Welcome to My Practice

I’m Jessica Kramer, Principal Therapist/Owner of Jessica Kramer Therapy.  I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and National Board Certified Counselor in private practice in Bethesda, Maryland. My practice offers psychotherapy services for individuals, couples, and parents. People who contact us are usually doing so because they are experiencing difficulty in their personal relationships or are experiencing uncomfortable symptoms of stress, depression or anxiety. By the time people contact me they have usually been in distress for a long time. They want relief, they want answers and they don’t want to feel judged.

We offer support in a relaxed atmosphere so that you will start to feel better quickly.

Get Relief from Stress and Build New Skills

We enjoy working with individuals and couples. Our clients come to us for many different reasons, but the most common ones are: overcoming symptoms of stress and anxiety, improving marital and family relationships, communication skills, parenting challenges, implementing boundaries with extended family, managing blended marriages and families, and building self-confidence.

Along with mindfulness and cognitive restructuring skills, we use techniques derived from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT, and EMDR which are empirically-based treatments proven to be effective for treatment of many psychological issues.

Many couples don’t seek counseling until things get so bad that it feels the marriage is on the verge of dissolving.  For those who need help quickly it can feel discouraging if your spouse refuses to come to counseling or has difficulty committing to counseling due to a demanding work schedule.

We can help:

Sometimes parents are frustrated, in distress, and really just need answers.  When there is an immediate need, parenting consultation focuses on constructing a plan to change current patterns. After everyone feels some relief, we then work together on the origins of the behavior.

We can help:

  • Parents to agree on discipline techniques and set an achievable plan
  • Parents to set realistic expectations and consequences
  • Parents to manage their children’s anxiety
